Finally Finished My Self Portrait, Samurai Assassin Style
So I ended up finishing up the self portrait. I added these grimy brushes of blood only because I’ve been watching old Samurai and Kung-Fu movies lately. I watch a lot of movies and I like to use that inspiration in my art and in the music videos I direct. I plan on hooking up the entire Point N Shoot Creative Group with our own portraits like this with the brush strokes and I will put them altogether and make a fake movie poster out of em. Call it like something like “Samurai Assassin”. Maybe I can get Chuey or someone to animate a graphic novel about it.
Saturday Night
So it’s been a pretty quiet Saturday so far. Earlier I had problems with my computer freezing due to lack of memory. I fixed that problem and decided I am not gonna finish up that interview edit tonight(sorry ASH). What I decided to do with that is let my business partner and good friend Adolfo Sanchez edit it tomorrow.
I felt that its about time to teach him the tedious art of video editing. Honestly, I’m not a fan of editing because it’s very tedious and time consuming. I’m trying to get it to the point where I just direct and film and pass the footage off for post production.

El Pollo Inka, Running Out Of Memory, Lighting and a DIY Dual Shoulder Rig
I was getting hella frustrated with my computer and Premiere Pro right now so I decided to take a lil break. The homie Scotty’s family owns all the El Pollo Inka’s in the South Bay. Personally, I think it is the best Peruvian food around. I know that sounds very biased, but I assure you it is the truth. Scotty just happen to hit me up as he was getting off work and asked if I wanted anything so of course I got my usual, Lomo Saltado w/ extra tomatoes. If you like Peruvian food or never even had any I suggest you culture yourself and stop by an El Pollo Inka asap, you wont regret it. Thanks again Scotty!

So here is the problem with my computer. I don’t know why I didn’t even think about this. Big slap in the face. Now I gotta spend the next hour and a half loading all the footage I have on here to my external hard drive. I predict I will need a new external hard drive in about a month. Damn HD footage takes up waaayyyy too much space!

3 constant problems that bug me during shoots are lighting, memory and battery life. Just got 2 of these battery powered LED desk lights, hopefully they will help solve some of my lighting problems. They seem to work well in some of the tests that I’ve done but I wont know for sure until I get out on location and put em to work. Memory and battery life will be taken care of in the next week or two.
Without a crazy budget we have to adapt to every situation and try to “MacGyver” this shit. So whatever works we will use or if needed build. Currently I am working on a dual shoulder rig for DSLRs. So far we have spent about $24 for just about all the supplies. I estimate we will spend maybe another $20 and have enough to make 2 shoulder rigs. So that would make 1 around $20-22. Below is a picture of the shoulder rig almost complete. All it needs is a paint job, bicycle grips, ankle weights and a quick release camera mount. I already have the foam to add to it for comfort, and if you notice I also built it so it’s able to come apart and store easily.

I plan to do a blog post of the complete step by step build when I put together the second one so stay tuned for that. I might also do a video on the build too.
Interview UPDATE
So the other night I went to the studio to film and do an interview piece for ASHTROBOT and ROCSTEADY. I’m still working on the interview edit. Ran into a few problems with my computer but thats all fixed now. Since the video is rendering right now I figured I would do a blog post. So far I got a total of 22 minutes worth of interview footage, and I’m still trying to figure out how to cut that all down into 5 or 6 minutes. They sure didn’t make it easy on me for this one, but I work best when under pressure and in the clutch. Although interviewing is not my strong point I did enjoy this lil project and I am interested in really doing a few more. Oh well the video is done rendering and its time to get back to work. Next post will come when I go to export and upload it.
Here are some of the actual frame shots from each interview.
NA8STRADAMUS X DJ NYKON
This is a photo from this past weekend of DJ Nykon and I at The 2012 Incredibowl Champions Cruise. Nyk invited me out to film and take pics of the entire event. Nyk was apart of an exciting lineup which included ASHTROBOT, Luckyiam from the Living Legends and Seekquence. Ash, Lucky and Point N Shoot’s very own Nicky Tee had a long freestyle session which had everyone on the boat rockn! The weirdest part was when one of the doots who worked on the boat grabbed the mic and started rapping. Surprisingly he could spit and was quickly accepted into the cypher. Here is a couple more pics:
I plan to do a blog post dedicated to Incredibowl Industries in the next day or so with pictures and a full review of their product the M420. Special thanks to Incredibowl Industries for a great night and thanks again to DJ Nykon for the invite!

Self Portrait UPDATE
So this is about 1 1/2 hours later so 2 1/2 hours total. Almost done got about another hour or so left to finish up and clean everything up. It’s coming along but I’m done for tonight I got to finish this interview edit.
Self Portrait
Not sure why I decided my first blog post would be about this self portrait I’m doing but ehh fuck it. So I started this self portrait and this picture is about 1 hour into it. It seems like it would be much esier if I had a tablet instead of a mouse but fut it. I guess as I continue I will update this blog on my progress.
